Successes and Achievements

Believe, Achieve, Succeed.

South Hylton Primary Academy believes that success is the sum of small efforts made day in and day out.  All our children achieve success every single day; sometimes in big ways and sometimes in small ways.

At South Hylton success can be achieved in many different ways, however we value effort and kindness above all else and are quick to praise on both counts.

At South Hylton, we use the parent app ‘Marvellous Me’ as a way of communicating daily successes and achievements.  This has received many positive comments from parents, so we encourage you to sign up by downloading the app and contacting the office for your unique log-in.

South Hylton Primary Academy is a ‘Good’ school,' as judged by Ofsted in September 2021. The report recognises that our academy is “vibrant and caring” and that “leaders have created a climate where pupils want to learn”.

Alongside this, we have recently achieved a 'Certificate of Excellence,' from schoolguide.co.uk.

Our commitment to human rights, equality and inclusion has resulted in our school achieving a UNICEF Rights Respecting award, and we are also proud to hold a number of other recognised awards, including: Fairtrade; Eco-Schools; RHS Gardening Award; Breath. and a number of others . These awards are important because they help our children understand how they can support the community and  wider environmental issues.

We are also an active school and hold the Sunderland Games Gold Mark. This year we are hoping to gain further accreditation to reflect the ambition we hold for both our school and the children who come here.
