School Meals
Every child in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 across England receives a free school meal.
Pupils in Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6) will be required to pay £2.20 per day (£11.00 per week), unless they are eligible for continuing free school meals (see below).
Lunch money can be sent into school with your child in a clearly labelled envelope or alternatively using the Local Authority’s secure E-Payment service.

Pupil premium and free school meals
All children (including those in Reception, Year 1 and Year 2) who meet the criteria for free school meals also generate a Pupil Premium payment for the school from the government. This is worth £1,300 a year for each qualifying child, with the money used by South Hylton to support the delivery of teaching and learning for all pupils in the school.
Please check our Pupil Premium information on the Key Information page for further details on how this money is spent.
