Sex and Relationships Education

Relationships and Sex Education (RSE) is taught sensitively and respectfully at South Hylton. We have a culture where staff and pupils are encouraged to discuss their thoughts and feelings and seek support whenever they need it. 

We know that understanding and managing relationships is an essential skill to thrive in the world therefore our pupils learn about: the different types of relationships, privacy and personal boundaries, they develop friendships and wider relationships in the community (and online) as well as learning how to make decisions about healthy relationships with others.
