Dress to Express Day Celebrates Confidence and Individuality
Back
Pupils at South Hylton Primary Academy embraced individuality and self-expression as they took part in a vibrant Dress to Express Day.
The event saw pupils wear outfits that reflects their personalities and interests, whether it was a football shirt, a favourite character top or simply what they'd usually wear at the weekend.
The event formed part of the Academy's commitment to creating a welcoming, inclusive environment where every pupil feels safe, valued and respected. Through activities like Dress to Express Day, pupils are encouraged to celebrate their differences, build confidence and develop a strong sense of community.
"At South Hylton Primary Academy we teach tolerance and respect, ensuring that everyone here feels welcome and safe."
- Chris Mitchinson, Headteacher at South Hylton Primary Academy.
The colourful day was a chance for pupils to express themselves freely, while reinforcing important lessons about acceptance, understanding and the power of being yourself.
The day was a positive reminder of the Academy's ongoing commitment to encouraging pupils to be brave, be good to others and strive for extraordinary. Values that are at the centre of our ethos.
